The global scene is constantly changing. Regions that used to be safe are increasingly facing security issues. Unfortunately, the opposite happens much less. To protect your staff in the field (local personnel, expats, visiting personnel from Belgium…), proper security and safety planning and management, as well as adequate procedures and trainings, are needed. Since all of this is far from easy and requires a lot of effort (both in time and money), specialized partners such as INSO are crucial.
That’s why, on the 6th of June, from 12:30 to 14:00 CEST, ngo-federatie and ACODEV organize a special online event with INSO, the International NGO Safety Organization.
What is INSO? INSO is a leading non-governmental organization specialized in safety and security of NGO personnel and humanitarian access, active in 17 (mostly African and Middle Eastern) countries and serving more than 1000 NGO’s. Through real-time alerts, security reports, information exchange and training (on the terrain, through country offices), INSO supports NGO’s in both preventing and dealing with security issues. The best of it all: membership is totally free, since the organization is funded by several governmental and international agencies.
During the event, INSO will present:
Who they are as an organization (mission, in which countries they are active, funding,…)
Which services and support they offer (their wide variety of services)
How your NGO can become a member (membership criteria)
…
There will also be ample of time to ask every question you have as a participant.
The event will be held online and in English. In this way, staff can participate worldwide.
Registration to the event is mandatory (see below). After registration, you will receive a Zoom link (a couple of days before the event).
